Obviously, I've been keeping away from record shops in a while. Being broke, I've just decided it'd be better to just stay away from records - my banker shares the same opinion.
So I went. And I ended up listening to 30 albums - half of them were not available for pre-listening on the machines they have. Of those 30, I could not afford more than 3. Took me a lot of courage to do that.
Among those records :
- Rain Machine (really tempted),
- Wave Machine, the new Joakim (just as good as always, he's so challenging in his approach to composing),
- the new Bloody Beetroots (there's something about them I really like and it's more their way to go from classical music to pounding pounding techno music - It's 10 AM do you know where your children are ?),
- Freddy's fat Drop (cool stuff from nea-zealand),
- Chromeo's Dj Kicks (how come I didn't even know about that ?), and Sourya (a french band recommended by les Inrocks).
I have to confess I've also been downloading a lot in the last 6 months - broke broke broke.
It feels so good to spend time in a record shop. getting a physical glance at all that's available.
I was once enough gullible to believe that Internet and all the info it contained was enough to satisfy me and really grasp it.
Then I found this album.

I had heard about the two of my most worshipped deejays/turntablists getting together in a new band but I had no idea it could be so good.
Stay tuned for Part.2 with extracts from this album, downloads and more.
