Un torrent de beats

Having bought this album -only 10 €, what a treat ! - I feel on top of the world.
It so perfectly blends everything I've been seeking and following as a trend in the last few years.
Every music style blended in the most elegant form. It clearly brings back the genius of 2 Many DJ's mixes and the live shows of Mixmaster Mike. It's broader than the As Heard on Radio Soulwax pt.2 without being irritatingly mainstream.
Excellent picks. Perfect executions, as you could only expect from former "5x world DMC team champons" C2C members.
Imagine Chemical Brothers fused with Cypress Hill. Beastie Boys with Justice.

Ok, now, think about how it feels when you have a previously unexploited (mix-wise) Nirvana track fused with a classic Prodigy.

And it's not just brutal mashups. It's a subtle great mashup of the best hits in the late 20 years. With a prefect treatment. Exactly comparable to what the Bang Gang DJ's did for the DJ Hero mix... but really, more elegant, more turntablisty and -sorry Ozies I love you very deeply- more french.

Music Today

It's just incredible how the job has changed in the last few years. This and the way kids play music, party to music. Even the way we listen to music. I recently made a -terrible- article about those new tools to listen to music online.
Never ever have we had access to so much music.
I grew up with vinyl and cassettes. Most of us did. The digital era is something. And we witnessed it. We were right at the heart of it.
Things are gonna change. We know it. This 2012 thing. The environment thing. The earth is soon gonna be upside down. I'm very afraid this whole thing (the new Internet) will be our last strokes of genius.

Not listening to music

As for I, I am gently starting to quit digital stuff. And music as well. This is why the second CD I bought is a collection of nature and bird sounds. To remind me of that goal.

I'm not talking of that pseudo meditation crap cds you can buy. With synthesizer sounds and all that. Nope. Just plain, pure, raw nature sounds. As advised by Julian Treasure on his inspiring TED talk.
The last CD I bought is Snow Patrol's Late Night tales. Don't know much about Snow Patrol but as a big fan of these Late Night Tales series and Azuli's work as a label in general, I can tell you this is the only reason right now to seat back, relax, get away from beloved CPU and enjoy this promising CD.
As I write this Justice just transformed into Daft Punk who just melted into Calvin Harris... Oh boy, what's it gonna be next ? Discover Simple, Private Sharing at Drop.io
